But Romeo has since taken to social media to share a string of snaps since the news of his split, and he looked rather downcast. Taking to social media in view of his 3.9 million followers, the footballer posed shirtless on a chair with his eyes closed, resting his head in his hand.

A second snap saw the shirtless player looking downcast as he rested his head in his hands. His post, which has been liked over 30,000 times, was soon flooded with support. Lando Norris penned: "Awwww look like a baby again." A fan added: "Beautiful beautiful Romeo."

"You are so beautiful bro omg crazy to think you are the son of Posh, but again, you are her twin," said a second. But one went on to reference the claims surrounding Romeo's relationship, sparking tension. They said: "Romeo be like: I wonder, would my brother and I still get along if dating hadn't brought all this drama and tension into our lives?"

But while sources had claimed that Brooklyn and his wife fell out with the Beckhams due to Romeo's relationship, other sources have dismissed this. There were reports that Brooklyn had previously had a brief relationship with Kim, but this was shot down and it was insisted that there was never a relationship between the wannabe chef and Kim.

The reports that Kim and Romeo had a "lovely time" with one another but realised that things "don't always last forever." But it's said to have been bad news for his parents, David and Victoria, who "really adored" Kim. The source said: "David and Victoria would hate for the view to be that they split because of Nicola and Brooklyn, because that simply isn't the case.

"The fact is that Kim has got a really busy career as a DJ and Romeo has a busy work life too, there is lots of travelling for both of them at having a relationship at this time isn't all that conducive to their lives." A source previously told the MailOnline that Kim and Brooklyn became close friends when she was dating Rocco Ritchie and hungout in a "tight-knit friendship group," adding: "There was never any romance."

Just last week, Romeo and Kim had been seen at C restaurant in the fancy area of Mayfair, London – but friends said they had already split. They both turned up at the swanky restaurant individually with their friends, but left together.
