Some films prove that success isn't always about a big budget—the 2013 Malayalam film Drishyam is one such example. Made with a modest budget of just ₹5 crore, the film went on to earn over ₹60 crore worldwide, setting records and winning hearts across the country.
Blockbuster from Day OneReleased on 19 December 2013, Drishyam was an instant hit, breaking records on its opening day itself. The film was so well-received that it ruled the theatres for 150 days, a rare feat in the film industry.
Starring Mohanlal in the lead role and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the family thriller had a powerful narrative that struck a chord with audiences. Alongside Mohanlal, the film featured Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, and Siddique in key roles.

Following its success, a second part was released, which was also well-received. Now, the third part is in the pipeline, with plans to shoot simultaneously in Hindi and Malayalam. While Mohanlal returns for the Malayalam version, Ajay Devgn will reprise his role in Hindi.
