The remaining season of IPL 2025 is going to start again from May 17, but before that every team is changing some of its players for different reasons.
The remaining 17 matches of the IPL 2025 season are going to start from Saturday, May 17. Due to India-Pakistan tension, the BCCI suddenly postponed the tournament on May 9. Now the tournament is starting again but almost every team has to make changes due to different reasons. Lucknow Super Giants has suffered a major setback in this, whose young fast bowler Mayank Yadav has again got injured and is out of the tournament. At the same time, a new player has also been included in Punjab Kings. This player is New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson, who is returning to the league after 4 years.
This bowler entered in place of MayankAbout 48 hours before the tournament resumed, this information was given in a press release by the IPL on Thursday, May 15. According to this, right-arm fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. This has created problems for Lucknow and Mayank himself because last year too he was ruled out due to injury after playing only 4 matches. After this, in the current season too, he returned after missing the first 9 matches of Lucknow and he was able to play only 2 matches.
In such a situation, Lucknow Super Giants have now included young New Zealand fast bowler Will O'Rourke to replace Mayank. The tall O'Rourke will get Rs 3 crore for the remaining matches of the season. This will be the Kiwi pacer's first experience in IPL. No one bought him in the mega auction. However, before the auction, he wreaked havoc in the Test series against India and played an important role in the team's historic clean sweep.
Gujarat without Buttler, Jamieson returnsNot only Lucknow, but Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans have also announced replacement players. Gujarat Titans, captained by Shubman Gill, who are leading the playoff race, will have to move forward without their star English batsman Jos Buttler. Buttler is currently returning but he will not be available after the league stage matches. In such a situation, Gujarat has signed Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batsman Kusal Mendis for the playoffs. He has been signed for Rs 75 lakh.
At the same time, Punjab Kings have also announced the replacement of injured fast bowler Lockie Ferguson. New Zealand's stormy fast bowler was out of the tournament due to injury a few matches ago. But Punjab has now included another player in his place. In place of Ferguson, Punjab has included 6 feet 7 inches tall Kyle Jamieson from New Zealand. Jamieson is returning to IPL after 4 years. Earlier he was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 season. Bangalore then bought him for a huge price of 15 crores. However, he was released in the next season. After this, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings but he was out due to injury. Now he is returning to IPL at a salary of 2 crores.
