“Pakistan Will Pay a Heavy Price”: LG Manoj Sinha's Stern Warning on Terrorism and Water Dispute

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has issued a strong warning to Pakistan over its continued support for terrorism, stating that “blood and water cannot flow together.” Speaking at a book launch event in Jammu, Sinha declared that India’s share of water under the Indus Water Treaty will now be retained solely for Indian use, marking a firm shift in policy.

The occasion marked the release of senior journalist Sant Kumar Sharma’s book, "Reflection of Indus Water Treaty Facts". Sinha took the opportunity to pay tribute to victims of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, while reiterating the government's resolve to crush terrorism in the region.

• Indus Water Treaty Suspension:
  Sinha called the Indian government’s decision to suspend provisions of the Indus Water Treaty a “historic step,” warning that Pakistan will face major consequences, especially as 23.7 crore people and 1.6 crore hectares of agricultural land in Pakistan depend on this water.

• Strong Message on Terrorism:
  Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, Sinha said that the response under ‘Operation Sindoor’ demonstrated India’s zero-tolerance approach. He reiterated that any terrorist incident will now be treated as an act of war and dealt with accordingly.

• Support for Kashmiri Civilians:
  He noted that common Kashmiris now stand against terrorism and that the administration is committed to delivering justice to victims and ensuring a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir.

• Diplomatic Victory:
  Sinha hailed the US’s move to designate The Resistance Front (TRF) — a Pakistan-backed terror group — as a global terrorist organization, calling it a major diplomatic achievement for India.

“Terrorism-Free Kashmir Within Reach”

The Lieutenant Governor expressed optimism that Jammu and Kashmir is close to being completely free of terrorism, and said that both the Centre and state administration are taking every possible step to achieve this goal.
