Chandigarh: Haryana Police has arrested Ajmer, a man who threatened to kill Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The incident took place in Devrar village of Jind district, where Ajmer had made the threat in a WhatsApp group. He had written in a group on the counting day on October 8 that "Jo bhi Mukhyamantri banega, usko goli maara doonga." (Whoever becomes the chief minister, I will shoot him).
Jind Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar said that as soon as the police came to know about the matter, they registered an FIR and immediately arrested Ajmer. A case has been registered against the accused for threatening and under the IT Act. Now Ajmer has been arrested and sent to jail. It is reported that Ajmer had said in a WhatsApp group named 'Sombir Rathi Julana Halka', "If BJP comes to power for the third time in Haryana, whoever becomes the Chief Minister, I will shoot him, like Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi." After this message, Mehtab Saini of Ramkali village lodged a complaint in Julana police station.
During police interrogation, Ajmer told that he had sent this message under the influence of alcohol and later when he regained consciousness, he deleted the message and also accepted his mistake. According to the police, Ajmer has no previous criminal record.
