Why do so many stars appear in the Milky Way simultaneously?

If you live in a big city like Delhi, it is very difficult to see the stars at night. On the other hand, if you live in a hilly area, then you can see not only stars but sometimes even the Milky Way in the sky at night. You can also see the Milky Way in the pictures taken by NASA or ISRO. In these pictures, the stars appear very close together, as if they are very close to each other.

In reality, the stars are far apart:  However, in reality, the stars are very far apart from each other, millions of kilometers apart. When we look at the sky, the stars appear to be shining together. This is just a game of appearance; in reality, they are not that close.

What is a galaxy?:  The Milky Way, which we also call "Galaxy", is a very large structure. It contains billions of stars, planets, gas, dust, and dark matter. Our galaxy is called "Milky Way". It is a spiral galaxy, in which the stars are arranged in a disk.

Why do stars appear together?:  The appearance of stars together depends on many factors. When we see stars, we are seeing their light which reaches us after millions of years. When this light reaches our eyes, the stars appear together to us. Actually they are very far from each other. It is something like in the video taken from above by drone, we see houses sticking to each other from a distance, but in reality there is a distance between them.

Eye range and brightness of stars:  Our eyes have a range of vision. We can see only the light that reaches the Earth. When many stars shine together, their combined light reaches our eyes simultaneously. This is why we feel that the stars are closer together, whereas in reality it is not so.

Experience of watching the Milky Way and stars:  People living in hilly areas or those who go there to visit can see the amazing view of the sky at night. However, in cities, it becomes difficult to have such an experience due to pollution and artificial light.
