Fragrance enthusiasts can snap up a 50ml bottle of a luxurious Yves Saint Laurent scent for a bargain price, thanks to a new sale at LookFantastic.

The beauty retailer is currently offering Black Opium Glitter at 40% off, slashing the original RRP of £105 down to a much more budget-friendly £63, reports OK!.

While the classic Black Opium is a blend of coffee and spice unfolding over a woody and vanilla base, the Glitter variation is described as a "sultry gourmand fragrance".

It opens with notes of pear, green mandarin and lemon before moving into the heart of orange blossom, similar to its original counterpart. The main difference appears in the base notes, where marshmallow musk appears alongside the iconic coffee, vanilla and patchouli.

Marshmallow has been enjoying a massive rise lately, and whilst it might sound quite cloying, it's actually a favourite ingredient in many perfumes - especially gourmands, whose goal is to smell like edible confections.

A LookFantastic shopper said: "As a fan of Black Opium, I really liked this bold, feminine fragrance. It is very similar to Black Opium, however, it is a little bit lighter and sweeter than the original".

Mentioning they find other scents in the Black Opium range to be "rather heavy," a second shopper said the Glitter edition is "different. It smells light and floral, and the lemon does come through with a refreshing tone".

Another fan called it "absolutely captivating", saying its signature Black Opium notes were "intoxicating". They added: "It's bold, seductive, and truly unique. I love how it adds a touch of glam to any evening, making me feel confident and radiant."

The sale is just in time for colder weather, as one shopper remarked that "to me, this is a winter scent...it's warm and cosy".

Others said it's "a versatile fragrance that could be worn for daytime or evening," and "a lovely addition to the Black Opium family."

One thing to keep in mind is that, as mentioned in most reviews, like the rest of the Black Opium range this perfume is quite strong and long-lasting, which might make it unsuitable for those who prefer lighter scents.
