Recent release Hell is Us may not be a true horror game, although it certainly has plenty of unsettling moments and monsters to justify its place in the Steam Scream Fest Halloween sale.
Published by Nacon, Hell is Us is an action-adventure game set in a bleak world. The game launched in September, but has already received a discount as part of the Steam Halloween sale.
If you're interested in grabbing a copy of Hell is Us on Steam, then you can purchase the game for just £35.99 until November 3. That's the cheapest price yet for one of this year's hidden gems.
Speaking of hidden gems, the Steam Scream Fest also features discounts on relatively new releases like The Alters, which is down to £22.12.
As for Hell is Us, the game features one of the best exploration systems, removing immersion-breaking waypoints and messy map markers in favour of a much more organic and authentic experience.
It's the same approach used by fellow 2025 release Atomfall, and was one of the main reasons I fell in love with Rebellion's first-person survival adventure.
You've actually got to pay attention to your surroundings, listen to what's being said and decide which leads to follow and when. You almost create your own missions, venturing off to an area you heard about in a bid to maybe discover a new item that will help with your adventure, or better yet, information that will help you further the story and achieve your main goal.
