Warning - this article contains major spoilers for All of You
New sci-fi romance film All of You, co-written by and starring Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein, originally had a very different ending that was changed at the eleventh hour.
The Apple TV+ film that's currently available to watch in cinemas follows two best friends, Simon (played by Goldstein) and Laura (Imogen Poots), in the not-too-distant future where scientists have perfected a DNA test to find people's soulmates.
Laura takes the test and supposedly finds her ideal match, but Simon has secretly harboured intense feelings for her for years.
They eventually start a secretive affair when Laura realises she reciprocates those feelings, but she finds it impossible to tear herself away from her husband Lukas (Steven Cree) and their children.
Director William Bridges helmed the feature, based on a short film he made with Goldstein over 10 years ago.
Here's your final spoiler warning - at the end of the film, the couple ultimately decide to part ways and Simon tearfully confesses to Laura that he'll always miss her.
At a Q&A screening in London this week, Goldstein shared: "So, the ending of the film was always that, but that wasn't the last line of the film.
"You make a film three times, in the script, then you make it again when you film, then you edit.
"When we wrote the script, the last line we loved, we were so proud of it. This is how it should end. And the original ending was a callback joke."
Earlier in the final scene of the film, they discuss whether being honest about their feelings earlier would have prevented Laura from taking the test.

Revealing the script originally took this idea a step further, Goldstein went on: "It ended with [Simon] asking, 'If I told you not to go in to take the test because I love you, would it have stopped you?' And she goes 'Nahhh'. That was in the script! And we loved it."
However, the filmmakers realised that embracing the emotion of Simon and Laura's final farewell made for a much more effective conclusion.
"And then, as we started filming the film, and the whole thing felt so much more emotional than we had imagined, and as we were getting nearer and nearer to shooting the ending, we were like 'It doesn't feel right'," Goldstein continued.
"I think the whole point is they never say what they mean, they're always making jokes, so at the end for anything to have changed he has to say the truth and not make a joke.
"Me and Imogen were such wrecks and we were just f*****g crying, and Will just came over to me and went 'just say what you feel' and that's what came out. It just happened on the day."
Not only was the scene changed at the very last minute, director Bridges revealed they didn't actually shoot the original intended ending as the emotions of the day took over.
The co-writers also admitted they had to cut a "brilliant" monologue from Zawe Ashton after it dawns on her character Andrea, Simon's girlfriend, that he's in love with Laura.
Despite the actress's excellent performance, director Bridges realised the crux of the scene could be conveyed through revealing looks between the characters.
"Zawe's look, I remember that being haunting," Poots recalled. "An amazing piece of acting."

As for the ending, the final parting between Simon and Laura clearly left the performers as emotional as the film's audience.
"We really hung out a lot in between takes, we'd be laughing and hanging out," Goldstein remembered.
"And that was the only day between takes that we sort of quietly stood at separate ends of the balcony until we finished the scene."
The film is currently in select cinemas and also available on Apple TV+, so you can either experience this swoon-worthy yet heartbreaking romance on the big screen or have tissues at the ready in the comfort of your own living room.
All of You is in UK cinemas and available to stream on Apple TV+.
