viewers couldn't agree on whether a news story made for the "best telly" or was simply "moronic".
and returned to the iconic red sofa this morning for another news round-up, discussing the war in Gaza and UK banks having to refund fraud victims from Monday, October 7.
However, amongst the serious news items, Charlie and Naga began talking about the upcoming Conkers Championships which is scheduled to take place this weekend.
As part of the segment, the presenters spoke to founder of the Peckham Conker Club Chris Quigley who had conkers at the ready so the hosts could show off their skills.
Charlie said that he used to play as a child while Naga was a complete novice to the game.
Charlie was the first to try with Chris telling him to "kiss" his conker before letting loose and whacking the guests.
"Woah you went for that!", Chris exclaimed and when Charlie asked for marks out of 10, he replied: "I'd give that an 11!"
Naga stated it was "aggressive" and jokingly said that his nickname would be Charlie the Conqueror.
It was then her time to give it a go with Charlie leaning back as she tried to hit Chris' nut, commenting: "Never done it before in my life."
There were many viewers who were left less than impressed by this quirky segment though with one person writing on X: "Another no news day", and a second calling it "dire TV".
Someone else wrote: All the s***going on in the world and they're showing you how to play conkers".
A fellow viewer stated: "This conkers bit is moronic and another commented: "God help us".
But not everyone was hating watching the segment with someone saying: "Your conker piece was the best telly in years!! "
"Best thing on TV this AM on @BBCBreakfast is watching Naga and Charlie playing conkers!", another agreed, adding: "Should be done every morning with all morning teams ."
While a third laughed: "It was 'pretty normal sized nuts' & "'does size matter' that had me sniggering in a very childish way! "
