has sparked a 'fakery' row after a video clip showed an audition being 'recreated'. The new series of the ITV talent show started yesterday (Tuesday 15 October) in Blackpool, but won't air until next year.
In the footage, judge Amanda Holden can be seen talking into the camera and telling fans that she had just pressed her Golden Buzzer. She exclaimed: "It's not something you'd expect me to press it for."
However, eagle-eyed fans have spotted a background announcement in the video. The voice says: "We're going to welcome Oliver BACK onto the stage, and we're going to RECREATE that moment."
Fans have furiously reacted on social media, claiming that the show is 'staged' and 'fake.' One person replied in the comments section: "It's been fake for years so nothing surprises me."
A second person chimed in: "I was lucky enough to watch in the audience last year, and don't get me wrong some of the golden buzzers feel staged af... but getting a golden buzzer act back on stage to get more shots is standard practice."
On the other hand, some fans defended the show and said that the recreation of auditions and Golden Buzzer moments was completley normal.
One person typed: "It's for pick-up shots, as every entertainment show under the sun does," whilst another person also agreed and said: "That's how entertainment shows work...?"
A third also waded in: "This is normal for any pre-recorded TV show I've been in the audience of. I once had to pretend to be shocked at a Deal or No Deal box opening that I watched 20 minutes earlier."
ITV have been contacted for comment by Express Online.
The new series started their auditions in Blackpool this week, with guest judge KSI taking to the panel to replace Bruno Tonioli as he continues working on Dancing With The Stars.
Amanda Holden, and all returned to their usual roles. Both Amanda and Simon have been judges on the show since 2007 when it first aired on ITV.
Last year, singer Sydnie Christmas was crowned the winner after giving an exceptional performance during the 2024 final. She has since revealed that she's not spent a single penny of her prize money.
