Donald Trump has hit out at Fox News during a urgent live TV alert for an interview with him, describing the channel's polls as "the worst." During a one-on-one interview on The Story with news anchor Martha MacCallum, the President was asked about his recent poor polling on the economy in the US.
But the Republican politician didn't accept the results of the polls, according to which 52 percent of people say the economy is worse under his administration, and said the network needs to hire a new pollster.
Interviewing Trump during his state visit to the UK, Martha said, "We do see polling that doesn't poll well in the economy. The recent Fox polling said 52 percent say the economy is worse under this administration.
"We've got unemployment at the highest rate in four years. Groceries made a big jump in the last term...You're looking forward with these plans that you just talked about, when will people feel that, President Trump?"
He replied, "Well, when the factories start opening. I mean, right now, we're building them, you know.
"And Fox polling, I have to tell you, I've told you before, it's the worst polling I've ever had...
"During the election, they had me winning by a little bit, not by a massive amount. And Fox polling, I've told Rupert Murdoch, go get yourself a new pollster because he stinks. And this is for years now."
The national survey carried out by Fox News from September 6 to September 9 found that 52 percent of voters believe the Trump administration has made the economy worse.

According to the poll, 30 percent of people believe the administration has improved the economy, while 18 percent noticed no different from when Joe Biden was in the White House.
The network's polling was carried out after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that US employers added just 22,000 jobs last month - down from 79,000 in July and lower than the 80,000 predicted by economists.
Data also revealed that unemployment rose to 4.3 percent last month - the highest rate reported since 2021.
During the presidential campaign last summer, Trump described Fox's polling as "atrocious" after it shared the results of some surveys which appeared to favor former Vice President Kamala Harris.
"It's that time of year again. Fox is releasing atrocious polling," Trump's campaign said in a statement. "President Trump continues to outperform polling from past cycles."
It added, "President Trump is 10 points ahead of where he was in Arizona at this point in 2020, according to Fox. Likewise, he is running 8 points ahead of his 2020 polling in Nevada and 5 points ahead of his 2020 polling in North Carolina."
