During tonight's episode of Emmerdale, Vinny Dingle (played by Bradley Johnson) told his fiancée, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), that he wanted to call off their engagement party. At first, she seemed confused, but then he explained that he would rather get married straight away instead of during a romantic moment between the lovers.

Vinny kneeled down and told Gabby, "Let's cancel the engagement part and just crack on with the wedding, shall we, as soon as we can?"

"What, as soon as possible?" Gabby asked as she tried to process the information. OK, well, it's spontaneous, romantic, and very social media friendly, so yeah, let's do it."

"So it's a yeah?" Vinny asked, to which Gabby smiled and nodded. He then stood up and embraced her, but as the camera panned in on his face, he looked concerned.

The moment comes just days after Vinny attempted to kiss his mate Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). Kammy pulled away, but when he teased the situation later on, a flustered Vinny pleaded for him to keep quiet.

Gabby still has no idea about the near kiss, and viewers are convinced history will repeat itself for her after her last partner, Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope), concealed his sexuality from her until their wedding day.

One fan penned on Reddit: "I'm just annoyed that this is pretty much a copy of the Nicky thing. You can bet Vinny's gonna cheat on her with a man."

Nicky revealed he was gay moments before he was meant to tie the knot with Gabby, who was left heartbroken as he admitted he was only with her in a bid to swindle her for money.

Another viewer said: "At least Vinny isn't trying to actively swindle/scam the Tates like Nicky and Caleb were. Vinny is a decent person, and he hasn't done anything in the past maliciously to hurt people like Meena has, to name one person."

A third added: "I mean, Nicky wasn't exactly malicious either, he was just trying to please his dad. He came clean in the end. But my point is I see Vinny cheating soon, he already almost did by trying to kiss Kammy."

Someone else shared: "The almost kiss for Vinny was really close to cheating territory. I hope they don't go down the cheating route for him, though; he's probably one of the only people in the soap who hasn't had an affair with anyone."

Will Vinny end up cheating on Gabby with Kammy or another man as he explores his sexuality further?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
