Emmerdale fans think they've caught Robert Sugden's secret husband Kev in a huge lie that could spell trouble for Robert's future in the ITV village - and any chance of him rekindling his romance with Aaron Dingle. In tonight's episode (September 30), Robert was confronted by his sister Victoria about his 'sugar-baby' relationship with Kev, who offered him protection while in prison. But with Kev only having "a few months" to live, Robert confessed he was emotional over more than just the money.
"He's dying, Vic!" Robert told his sister - but fans have their doubts. Some are insisting Kev isn't dying at all, but instead wants to wreak more havoc for the Sugdens after John's crimes were exposed. One X user tweeted: "Let me guess, he's not dying!"
Another social media user said: "Robert saw through John but he believes that ridiculous story about Kev dying is true."
Someone else chimed in: "Oh no! Does Rob have Stockholm Syndrome to add to trauma - Kev is dangerous & probably lying too. I believe we may find Kev is not dying at all but got day release for another reason. I feel unsettled, unhappy & frustrated with the SL @emmerdale decided to go with #robron."
Other fans have theorised Kev could be brought in to kill John in a grisly final showdown - and avoid any of the main characters going to prison for murder.
One tweeted: "I wonder if Kev was brought in partly to kill John in the showdown - which avoids any main permanent character having to be a murderer..."
Someone else posted: "Think Kev made Rob in prison be his bf so [he had] full control however, if John comes back to kill Rob then over to Kev job done. John murdered and Kev locked up forever."
