High street favourite with 23 shops in the UK opens new store in another city

A popular high street brand has opened another store in Birmingham. Uniqlo, opened its new store in the Bullring shopping centre on October 16. Uniqlo has began to open more and more branches across the UK with a total of 23 stores now open to customers. The chain offered an exclusive goodie bag for the first 100 people who spent £60 at the store.

The Japanese clothing brand has gained popularity in the UK in recent years and it's no surprise to see it popping up in more UK cities. Sim Chatha, a Uniqlo assistant at the store, shared how excited the staff were to welcome in more Brummie customers, reports Birmingham Live.

She said: "We're really excited to be the first store in the West Midlands, and hopefully it will be a store that stays here in Birmingham."

The new store has three floors and sells clothing for women, kids, babies and men.

Uniqlo has stores in King's Cross, Westfield White City, Oxford Street in London, along with Princes Street in Edinburgh and a store in Liverpool.

According to its website, it has 23 stores across the uk. In 2026, the brand will be opening new stores in Leeds and Bristol.

Uniqlo is clothing brand which focuses on creating simple and timeless clothing items.

Based in Tokyo, it was first founded in 1984. According to The New Yorker, its CEO, Tadashi Yanai, is now the second-richest man in Japan.
