Earlier this year, that the four back-to-back biopics of will star Paul Mescal (), Joseph Quinn (), Barry Keoghan () and Harris Dickinson ().
All four official films will hit cinemas a week apart in April 2028, and now three more stars have been announced behind the camera.
According to , three major award-winning scribes will pen the Beatles biopics.
And considering their back catalogues as very grounded, very British storytellers, they are a great choice.
First up is Tony Award winner Jez Butterworth, the man behind Jerusalem, which is considered one of the greatest English plays of the 21st century. On Film, he's worked with Mendes before on the script of Spectre and more recently with James Mangold on Ford v Ferrari and the latest Indiana Jones adventure. Next up is Peter Straughan, who won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for Conclave this year and was previously nominated for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He also penned all 12 episodes of the BBC's Wolf Hall series.
Last and certainly not least is Jack Thorne, who recently wrote the critically acclaimed Netflix drama Adolescence. He also penned the three Enola Holmes movies, the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play and the West End's The Motive and the Cue, which was directed by Mendes.
