fans have been left fuming after a major schedule shake-up pushed back by an hour to make way for a two hour episode of crime drama . The anticipated CBB episode was set to address Hollywood actor , but it was bumped to a 10pm start time tonight.
Disappointed viewers have taken to social media to voice their frustration over the decision, asking why ITV couldn't have reshuffled the evening's line up to keep Big Brother in its usual 9pm slot. One unimpressed fan hit out: "ITV could have easily had Catchphrase on at 6pm and Grace at 7pm. CBBUK at 9pm. Nothing standout in the 6pm slots to dislodge if changed."
Another posted: "Why the hell is CBB UK on at 10pm tonight? Far too late for a Sunday!" The backlash comes after ITV confirmed that Sunday episodes of Celebrity Big Brother would air later at night to accommodate the return of 'New Drama Sundays' - a dedicated block from 8pm to 10pm for flagship scripted shows like Grace.
This week's episode of Grace is called Dead at First Sight. It follows DSI Roy Grace as he investigates a chilling murder linked to an online catfishing scheme.
The feature length instalment has introduced new character Vee Wilde (played by We Are Lady Parts star Juliette Motamed), as well as guest stars Ben Cutler, Amy Trigg, and Mark Noble.
While the new episode of the detective drama received praise for its gripping storyline, it came at a cost for CBB fans, and has especially upset those that like to watch the spin-off show Late & Live which will now air at the even later time of 11pm.
One viewer complained: "You give us 18 MEASLY DAYS of Celebrity Big Brother... and you can't even schedule it properly??? A whole a** 365 days of the year and TWO SUNDAYS can't be found to air it properly???"
Another joked: "I agree - have it on ITV and it's Grace. I was like, where the hell is Big Brother? Hahah."
The disruption to the schedule comes at a particularly dramatic point in the series, after CBB bosses confirmed Mickey Rourke's removal from the house following "unacceptable behaviour" and "inappropriate language".
An ITV spokesperson announced the news yesterday, saying: "Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour."
