Edgar Wright's latest movie, The Running Man, hits cinemas today in yet another Stephen King adaptation release this year.
The dystopian action thriller follows Glen Powell's Ben Richards in a lethal game show where he has to survive 30 days without being assassinated by mercenaries hunting him down.
During the film, the lead travels across the US, starting with New York City, before a massive Pennywise It Easter egg shows up.
And this one is particularly apt given that prequel TV series It: Welcome to Derry is streaming weekly on NOW.
During his travels, Richards finds himself travelling to Derry, Maine, the fictional town setting of It, where Pennywise terrorises children every 27 years. Set in the near future, The Running Man clearly takes place in the same universe (King's Maine universe), but long after the clown demon was defeated. Derry also comes up in other King novels, including Misery, Insomnia, Pet Sematary and 11/22/63.
The Running Man is in cinemas now.
