Loose Women's Penny Lancaster has revealed her rockstar husband Rod Stewart's secret struggle with colour blindness.
The 53-year-old joined the ITV panel, including Charlene White, Linda Robson, and Denise Welch, on Thursday to chat about various topics. Yet, it was during a conversation about daring home decor that Penny dropped the surprising detail.
She described their home's bold style, complete with leopard prints and gold accents, before revealing: "My husband is colour blind and when we're going he'd go 'darling does this go with this?' and I'm like 'on you, it does, honey because I think you're flamboyant and that's your style and it's great'."
Penny also mentioned having a zen space in their otherwise lively home, saying: "But like I have a room which is zen, calm. You know I try to create some zen in our mad house!"
This insight into the couple's domestic life follows Rod's recent need to publicly defend his marriage amid rumours of a "stalemate" after 17 years together.
Reports from the Daily Mail had suggested tensions were high over the potential sale of their lavish Beverly Hills mansion, bought by Rod in 1991 for $12m and now valued at an impressive $70m, reports the Mirror.
The sprawling estate boasts nine bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and even its own football pitch.
Rod, 79, had reportedly given his word to wife Penny about settling down full-time in their Grade II-listed Essex mansion, sporting 10 lavish bedrooms. However, rumours began surfacing about a possible spat between the couple.
Quashing the rumours swiftly, Rod declared: "There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I, and no disagreement on where we should reside, in fact, it's the opposite," he said.
"We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit."
Continuing, he added: "Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there."
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV1.
