won't be in action at this weekend's , but the legendary golf ace will have the chance to leave his mark on Augusta by helping to design a new golf course in the city. Since reducing his participation on the , Woods has headed the TGR Design team - an organisation committed to creating "exceptional golf experiences".
The American is set to be part of the team that designs a nine-hole short course at Augusta Municipal Golf Course, located just south of the renowned Augusta National Golf Course. Woods' Augusta legacy is still well intact, having won five Masters titles during his time as a player, but the 49-year-old will now have the chance to inspire the next generation of golfing starlets.
The announcement was made at the city's other golf course, the National, in the build-up to the Masters this weekend. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said: "Today's announcements mark an important milestone for Augusta and deepen the connection our community has with one of our greatest Masters champions, Tiger Woods.
"We are thankful to partner with the TGR Foundation and jointly invest in the Augusta community. This partnership, in the TGR Learning Lab, reflects our shared interest in increasing access to high-quality programming and impacting the next generation in a tangible way.
"At the heart of our effort at The Patch is a commitment to create an affordable and inviting golf experience. Equal importance will be placed on creating opportunities to learn and fall in love with the game as well as developing a pipeline for employment in the golf industry."

Woods, who turns 50 later this year, has saved the majority of his tournament appearances in recent years for the majors. However, the 15-time major winner will be forced to sit out this year's Augusta showpiece after rupturing his Achilles.
On the announcement, he mused: "Partnering with Augusta National Golf Club to serve its surrounding community is truly special. My passion for education and golf dates back a long time, as does my relationship with Augusta National and the city of Augusta.
"This is a transformational opportunity to empower the next generation and deliver meaningful educational programming and access to fun and affordable golf. I am excited to work alongside Augusta National and see both projects become a reality."
The opening tee from Augusta National is pencilled in for Thursday morning local time, with play running right the way through to the final day of action on Sunday. .
