A quaint village in England is home to a postcard-perfect train station that has caught the attention of its visitors. The old-fashioned feel of the village and the train station makes visitors feel like they have stepped back in time.
If you're looking for a unique and historic place to visit this summer, Corfe Castle in Dorset could be the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break. The quiet village is known for its picturesque scenery and its famous castle ruins alongside its iconic train station.
Swanage Railway says: "From our picturesque station ideally located for the village you can catch the Swanage Railway trains to Harmans Cross and Swanage, as well as trains heading north to the Park and Ride facility and mining museum at Norden.
"No visit to Swanage Railway is complete without a trip to Corfe Castle station. The station building dates from the opening of the line in 1885, but following closure and narrowly avoiding demolition in the 1970's has been painstakingly restored by our hard working team."
The station allows its visitors to step back in time as they open the door and enter our station, complete with wooden floors, coal fires and Ladies Waiting Room.
But there's much more to the area than just its train station. You can enjoy a cream tea, go cycling, take a trip on a steam train, or enjoy the local countryside.
One must-visit place is the castle itself, a visitor on Tripadvisor said: "We were on our way to Swanage when we saw the sign for Corfe Castle.
"We thought we could spare the time and we were very glad we did. Spectacular both from a distance and within, the castle is full of history and great views. Audio guide available and recommended. There are also plenty of info boards.
"In the village at the entrance there are several nice pubs for lunch and refreshments. We also got the link to Kingston Lacey which we visited the following day."
You can also visit the Blue Pool Nature Reserve and Tearooms located in 25 acres of tranquil land.
Visiting Corfe Castle will provide a peaceful staycation this summer if you're looking for a quiet stay in a quaint village.
