Suryakumar Yadav-led India etched their name into the history books by breaking multiple records during the India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 12th October, Saturday. Out of the many records broken, the Men in Blue created a new world record by going past Czech Republic's feat against Turkey, which was made in 2019. India now have scored the most number of boundaries (fours + sixes) in a T20I innings. They have hit a total of 47 boundaries, which is four more than the previous record of 43. The national team's previous record in this regard was 42 boundaries, which they achieved back in 2017 against Sri Lanka in Indore. If we look at the breakdown of the boundaries, 19 came from Sanju Samson's bat, 13 were contributed by Suryakumar Yadav, 5 from Riyan Parag and 8 from Hardik Pandya. Rinku Singh and Abhishek Sharma contributed with one a piece. The Men in Blue finally finished on a massive 297 runs with loss of 6 wickets. This total is the 2nd highest-ever total in T20I cricket after Nepal's 314 against Mongolia and it also happened to be India's highest-ever team total in the shortest format as well. Speaking of the top performers, it was Sanju Samson, who stole the show with a brilliant 41-ball hundred. He was put under the scanner for his average performance in the Indian jersey, but today he silenced all his critics by notching up the 2nd fastest-ever hundred by an Indian in T20Is. Joining him was also Suryakumar Yadav. The captain also scored a brilliant 35-ball 75 to support Samson in the middle. Both of them put up a massive 173-run partnership during the match as well. Other notable performers were Riyan Parag 34(13) and Hardik Pandya came up with a 18-ball 47.
