Upendra Celebrates 25 Years Of 'Upendra' By Watching Re-release With Fans

To mark the 25th anniversary of his iconic Kannada film Upendra, the renowned actor and director Upendra joined fans for a special screening of the movie on Friday, September 20.

Cult following The film, which has gained a cult following over the years, was re-released in theatres to celebrate this milestone. Fans gathered in large numbers for early morning shows starting at 6.30 am to relive the groundbreaking movie, while Upendra himself enjoyed the nostalgic experience alongside them. Upendra, first released in 1999, remains one of the most influential films in Kannada cinema, known for its bold narrative and unique storytelling.Taking to social media, the actor-director shared the excitement of watching his directorial amidst his diehard fans.As usual, he wrote a cryptic message around the word ‘Nanu’ meaning ‘I’ in Kannada. A rough version of it when translated in English goes like this: “After 25 years, when I watched ‘I’ in Upendra, this is what I felt… ‘You’ must have felt what I felt since the I in me and You are the same. Do share what You felt…”
