Rachel Yaffe, a TikTok star with over 55,000 followers, has died following a seven-year battle with a rare liver cancer. Yaffe, 27, departed this life on October 11; she was survived by her brother, sister, and parents. At the age of 20, Yaffe received a diagnosis of fibrolamellar carcinoma. She shared her experience on social media, highlighting both her successes and setbacks. Yaffe disclosed specifics on her diagnosis in a 2023 TikTok video. Her symptoms were first written off as anxiousness. Subsequent examination, however, revealed a 20-centimeter tumor on her liver, which was obstructing her calves' blood supply and producing shoulder discomfort. After a biopsy, the tumor was found to be an extremely rare form of liver cancer in adolescents. Following the news of Yaffe's passing, fans showered her online memory book with sincere remarks, expressing their respect and support for her open and honest stories.Yaffe kept her fans informed about her treatments and obstacles during her fight. Her chemotherapy was restarted in January 2024. Later, she had surgery to repair a tumor in her left lung that was pressing on her heart and causing hemorrhage.
