Patna: One Amravati Devi (52) lost her life after being injured by a thresher machine at ward number 10 of Tadhavanandpur Panchayat in Bairia block in West Champaran district on Saturday. The incident took place when wheat threshing was underway at one Bhikham Yadav's field. The woman's clothing got entangled in the machine while the operator was distracted by his cellphone. According to eyewitnesses, despite the machine being halted after hearing her cry for help, the woman had already sustained severe injuries, including the complete severing of one hand. The victim was rushed to the GMCH, but unfortunately, she could not survive. The tractor driver absconded with the machine following the incident.
