Itanagar: The Arunachal unit of the BJP ST Morcha lauded the Centre for passing of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2005, on Friday.
The party celebrated at its headquarters.
The ST Morcha president Kame Yangfo said that the bill will benefit people from other backward classes in the Muslim community. While thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government for the passing of the bill, the Arunachal unit BJP general secretary Tadar Niglar said that it will benefit women and now enable them to participate in the Waqf Board as members, a feat that did not happen earlier.
He added that auditing in financial matters will be possible and transparent due to this. People outside of Muslim community who have donated will also be benefitted in the respective matter, Niglar added.
