Mother, son killed after auto-rickshaw collides with truck in Silchar

Silchar: A woman and her son were killed, while three other members of the same family were injured, when the auto-rickshaw they were traveling in collided head-on with a soil-laden truck in the Ramnagar area of Silchar on Thursday.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 3pm when five members of the family were returning to their home in Srikona from Sildubi in Cachar district. The injured were were promptly rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment. As of the time of filing this report, the identities of the deceased and the injured had not been confirmed.
