Jaipur: A 50-year-old man was killed after being run over by a speeding dumper truck in Sanganer under the Malpura Gate police station area Friday morning. The victim, Jai Narayan Saini, a resident of Bhairav Colony in Sanganer, owned a gravel shop near his home. According to police, he stepped out around 6am to buy milk and was crossing Diggi Road on foot when the incident occurred. A speeding dumper struck Saini and dragged him for nearly 50 metres before coming to a halt. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
Saini was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Malpura Gate police, upon receiving information about the accident, arrived at the spot, diverted traffic, and initiated evidence collection. The body was later sent to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital's mortuary for post-mortem examination.
The police have seized the dumper and launched a search to trace the absconding driver. A case has been registered, and CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
