Jaipur: Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa Monday delivered a blunt message to party workers, urging them to take an active stand against threats to the Constitution—or make way for those who will.
"If you cannot speak up against the deteriorating condition of the Constitution, then there is no place for you in this party," Randhawa warned.
Addressing a state-level event at the Congress headquarters in Jaipur to mark Dr B.R. Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Randhawa also demanded a review of appointments made during the elections, questioning the commitment of those who remained inactive.
He slammed the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP govt, accusing it of being disconnected from grassroots issues. "This govt is blind to people's problems. All it cares about is expanding its political base," he said.
Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra paid tribute to Ambedkar and accused the BJP of undermining the Constitution. "Those in power today don't follow Gandhi's values or respect Ambedkar," he said.
Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully echoed concerns saying Ambedkar's legacy is being systematically dismantled. He condemned the BJP for suppressing opposition voices and using agencies like the ED and Income Tax to target dissent. "Constitutional rights of Dalits, women, and backward communities are under attack," Jully said.
The event concluded with calls for a statewide outreach campaign to defend constitutional values and confront what Congress leaders described as rising authoritarianism under BJP rule.
