JAIPUR: A gang of unidentified thieves stole mobile phones worth approximately Rs 42 lakh and cash from a mobile showroom near the Gopalpura flyover on Tonk Road late Wednesday night. The daring theft, which took just 15 minutes to execute, was captured on CCTV cameras.

According to the FIR filed by the store manager, the showroom was locked at around 9:30 PM on Wednesday. When staff arrived on Thursday morning, they found the shutter partially lifted, the glass door open, and several high-end mobile phones and cash missing from the counters and lockers.

The Bajaj Nagar police, who arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the complaint, began reviewing CCTV footage and collecting forensic evidence.

As per the footage, six suspects were seen loitering outside the store around 4:54 AM on Thursday. After surveying the area, one of them used a large sheet to shield the group from public view while another lifted the shutter from the centre. A slim accomplice was then sent inside the store through the narrow opening.

Once inside, the thief disabled the alarm system, broke into display cases and lockers, and handed the stolen items out to the group waiting outside. The entire operation was completed in under 15 minutes before the gang fled the scene.

Police suspect the gang had prior knowledge of the showroom’s layout and alarm system. Police are currently scanning additional CCTV footage from nearby streets and establishments to trace the thieves' escape route.

A case was registered at Bajaj Nagar police station, and police said that a further investigation is underway.
