Kanpur: Deputy commissioner of police (Central), Shrawan Kumar Singh, conducted a site inspection to ensure the orderly and secure conduct of the fourth Muharram procession on Monday. He accompanied the procession while reviewing the arrangements in place.
During his interaction with procession participants and organisers, he stressed the importance of maintaining flag heights within prescribed limits to prevent accidents involving electrical lines. He emphasised the need for social harmony and coordination throughout the festival period.
The DCP issued directives for stringent monitoring of disruptive elements, and taking immediate legal proceedings against offenders. Beat sub-inspectors and constables received instructions to conduct regular patrols in sensitive zones, maintain vigilance, and take firm action against identified troublemakers. tnn
