Mangaluru: In a case of triple riding, a rider and a pillion died, and another pillion suffered injuries after the bike they were travelling on rammed into a divider at a junction on NH-66 between Kuntikana and KPT in Mangaluru in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased are rider Sankeerth, 23, and Dhanurved C, 19 and the injured is Cibi Sam, 22, according to police.
In a complaint, Rohan Jobi said his friends, Sankeerth, Dhanurved, Cibi and Meghanath left their house in Lohith Nagar for tea at 2.50am, heading towards Pumpwell. Jobi and Meghanath left on one bike, and the other three left on another bike. Sankeerth rode the motorcycle allegedly in a negligent manner and rammed into the divider. Sankeerth and Dhanurved suffered serious injuries and died en route to the hospital. Mangaluru east police have registered a case.
