IRCTC introduces train, air tour packages from Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has introduced train and air travel packages originating from Mangaluru.

Sam Joseph P, joint general manager of Tourism, said in Mangaluru on Tuesday that to enhance accessibility to IRCTC's travel services, a tourism information and facilitation centre was launched early this year at Mangaluru Central Railway Station. The centre provides details on IRCTC travel packages and facilitates tour bookings.

He said IRCTC is offering a special air package, Varanasi with Ayodhya Darshan. The tour departs from Mangaluru International Airport on May 16 and will begin in Varanasi, continuing to Prayagraj. It will also include a visit to Ayodhya. This package is available from Rs 36,700 per person.

IRCTC also launched a six-day Kashmir Air Tour Package from Mangaluru, which will include Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonmarg. The trip starts from Mangaluru on Aug 25, with prices starting from Rs 51,700 per person. The domestic air packages will include round-trip airfare, local transportation, hotel accommodation with meals, services of a tour coordinator and travel insurance.

IRCTC is also offering a five-day train tour package to Ooty, departing from Mangaluru every Thursday. This package includes round-trip train tickets, local transportation, hotel accommodation and travel insurance at a price starting at Rs 8,545 per person.

In addition, IRCTC has international packages, including an eight-day South Korea tour package departing from Bengaluru on May 3, with the price starting at Rs 2.19 lakh per person, a 13-day Europe tour package scheduled to depart from Bengaluru on May 19, priced from Rs 3.78 lakh per person, a six-day air tour to Nepal departing from Kochi on May 22, starting at Rs 60,500 per person, and a seven-day Sri Lanka Air tour departing from Kochi on May 27, with the package priced from Rs 61,900 per person.

The LTC facility is available for all domestic tour packages to employees of central and state govt offices as well as public sector establishments.
