Rajkot: A Jaguar fighter jet of the IAF crashed in a field near Suvarda village, some 12 km from Jamnagar city, on Wednesday night, resulting in the death of one pilot while another sustained injuries.
Jamnagar SP Premsukh Delu confirmed one death and said that the injured pilot has been admitted to the state-run GG Hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred during a training mission and triggered a massive fire in the field. The cause of the incident remains unknown. "The aircraft caught fire after the crash landing," Delu said.
Emergency response teams, including police and firefighters, rushed to the site to contain the situation. The loud explosion and thick smoke that followed caused panic among villagers, who discovered the injured pilot while the other was found dead. tnn
