Rajkot: A 32-year-old woman who ran a car driving class for women allegedly died by suicide at her lover's residence, reportedly devastated after he abruptly ended their 17-year relationship.
The deceased, identified as Ruksana alias Rishi Juneja, taught women to drive for the past 12 years. She was found hanging at the house of her lover, Rafiq, in Kevalam Awas Yojana on Pushkardham Road on Wednesday.
Her brother, Imtiaz Juneja, lodged a complaint against Rafiq at the University Police Station. According to the complaint, Rafiq was married for 13 years but continued a relationship with Ruksana.
On April 2, when the family was unable to reach Ruksana for several hours, they grew concerned. Around the same time, they received a call from Rafiq, who informed them that she was last seen around 4 PM near Kevalam quarters. While searching her belongings at home, her family discovered a note in which she reportedly expressed deep anguish over Rafiq's actions.
In the note, Ruksana wrote that Rafiq broke off their relationship and urged her to end her life, despite previously promising to stay with her forever.
The family immediately informed Pradhyuman Nagar Police Station. Officers later found Ruksana's body at Rafiq's house, where another note was recovered, reiterating the distress she expressed earlier.
According to the complaint, Ruksana was engaged 20 years ago, but the engagement was called off within a month.
