Jamshedpur: The city police busted an inter-state robbers' gang and arrested six members on late Tuesday.
Police also recovered stolen gold items worth Rs 10 lakh and firearm, a live bullet and tools from the accused.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested the robbers from Ghorabandha in Govindpur thana limits. The gang members confessed to committing burglary at 15 residential flats in Kadma, Telco, Adityapur thana areas besides other places in the recent days, SP (City) Kumar Shivashish said.
The arrested are two from Odisha, three from Madhya Pradesh and one from Maharashtra. A city-based jeweller, Ajay Burman, who used to purchase the stolen jewellery items from the gang was also held. The stolen gold, weighing 99 gram, was recovered from the house of Burman in Mango, police said.
"We will take them into custody for further interrogation about thefts reported across the city over a period of time," SP said. TNN
