MHT-CET re-exam 2025: The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has announced that a re-examination will be conducted for candidates who appeared for the MHT-CET 2025 in the Sunday morning slot. This decision follows the discovery of 21 major errors in the mathematics section of the English-medium question paper.

The flawed paper was attempted by 24,744 students and was one of 16 distinct sessions conducted for the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) group in this year’s MHT-CET. The errors were confined to the mathematics section, which is especially critical since each math question carries two marks—double the weightage of those in the physics and chemistry sections. This discrepancy could have significantly impacted student scores and rankings, prompting immediate action by the authorities.

The MHT-CET serves as a key entrance exam for admission to engineering, pharmacy, and agricultural degree programs across colleges in Maharashtra. A total of approximately 7.64 lakh students had registered for the exam this year, reflecting its scale and importance.

In response to the incident, the CET Cell stated that new dates for the re-examination will be announced shortly. Additionally, it confirmed that disciplinary measures will be taken against the educators responsible for preparing the erroneous paper. The Cell reiterated its commitment to fairness, transparency, and the academic future of students, assuring that necessary steps are being taken to uphold the integrity of the examination process.
