Director Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is making a strong impact at the global box office, earning close to Rs 250 crore within its first week. Its release coincided with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Deepika Padukone.
During his conversation with Hindi Rush, the filmmaker opened up about the box office clash between his 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' and Ajay Devgn's ''Singham Again'. The filmmaker expressed that the success of both films was crucial for the industry, emphasizing that every film should perform well as it involves significant investment and provides jobs to many people.
The filmmaker added that he always hopes for all films to succeed and had been praying from the start for both releases to be hits. He shared that he doesn’t believe in competition and views it as a collective effort, noting that those involved in the other film such as Arjun, Ajay, Akshay, and Rohit are his friends. With both movies performing well, he said, everyone is happy.
When asked about casting Madhuri Dixit for the role of second Manjulika, the filmmaker revealed that the role of the second Manjulika was significant, which led him to consider approaching Madhuri Dixit, a choice that excited everyone involved.
Recalling a conversation with her at a party, he shared that Madhuri had complimented his work, saying, “Anees bhai, I’ve seen your films, and I really like them.” Taking this as an opportunity, he decided to approach her for the role. When he met with her to narrate the story, she was very receptive and appreciated the combination of the producers, cast, and direction, eventually agreeing by saying, “Let’s do it.” He noted how thrilled the entire team was at the prospect of having both Madhuri and Vidya in the film, seeing it as an ideal pairing for the project.
