Actress Sheetal Maulik, who is all set to portray Priya Jaiswal in the upcoming TV show Meri Bhavya Life, recently opened up about her desire to try her hand at Standup comedy.
She said, "Having a humour, is a talent. And I feel everyone needs to try making jokes in front of a crowd every once in a while. In fact, it’s good for people’s well-being to try something as fun and as exhilarating as performing or doing comedy."
She continued, "I love trying new things, such as hiking, backpacking abroad, or searching for exotic food. Performing in front of other people is an exciting new experience, too. Compared to other activities, it is quite a unique one, bringing out adrenaline that many people look for. I wish to do Standup comedy. I'm keen on performing live or joining the cast of shows, such as Comedy Nights with Kapil."
She added, "I'm confident now, that I can do comedy. After playing a role in a show like Gutur Gu, the genre is no more new to me. I still come across people coming to me and expressing their desire to see me back in that show. They still remember me for my work and I feel blessed. Performing stand-up comedy is an exciting way to gain the confidence to talk or express. It improves creativity and sharpens the wit."
On World Laughter Day 2025, celebrated on Sunday, May 4th, she encouraged people to live happier, promote peace through adding joy and laughter in life.
She shared, "It's never good to be serious all the time and letting the laughter bubble up from time to time is good for all of us! I feel one who makes people laugh, add joy in the environment is a successful person. Such practices keep one healthy and happy."
She concluded mentioning, "Laughter is life's best therapy. Celebrate it with open hearts! Laugh like nobody's watching — Happy World Laughter Day 2025!"
Sheetal is also known for featuring in Deewaniyat, Suhaagan, Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai among others.
