Draymond Green , an arch-rival of Kevin Durant , came out in his support and talked at length about his unbeatable legacy. Demonstrating exemplary unity and respect in the NBA environment, he made such positive comments about Durant to shut down an NFL analyst, who questioned his leadership skills. Draymond’s praise came as a surprise as the NBA world knows the two as fierce rivals who have fought historic face-offs in the past.
Draymond Green highlights Kevin Durant’s achievements while clapping back at an NFL veteran
Draymond Green recently spoke highly about his former teammate and current rival, Kevin Durant, on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show. He heaped praise on Durant, highlighting all his achievements. It seemed almost like a reminder to critics like Emmanuel Acho , who ridiculed Durant recently. Praising Durant, he said:

“He is a star, a legend, a GOAT, a champion, an Olympic Gold medalist… Four times. You can’t go at KD’s game so you start talking about leadership… KD is KD. Point blank. Period.”

Draymond Green’s comments mirror the formidable reputation he holds in NBA spheres. Durant and Green faced-off each other 26 times, putting on a perfect show for NBA fans.
Kevin Durant and Emmanuel Acho engaged in a verbal war
Draymond Green’s comment came as a fitting clap back to the NFL veteran who questioned Durant’s leadership. A battle of sorts is going on between Acho and Durant. Acho first commented negatively on Jayson Tatum , saying:

“I want to go as far as to say the Boston Celtics match up better versus the New York Knicks without Jayson Tatum than they do with Jayson Tatum. Not because of talent, exclusively because of mindset.”

Acho further said, “Jaylen Brown, I don't think, is a better player than Jayson Tatum. But I do believe Jaylen Brown is a more physical player than Jayson Tatum.

"I do believe he plays a tougher brand of basketball than Jayson Tatum. And the difference between the Celtics and the Knicks at this point in time, the delta between the Celtics and the Knicks isn't talent, it's toughness."

Kevin Durant came in support of Jayson Tatum and criticized Acho, saying:

“Hot take artist have ruined the sport. Football guys, no disrespect but yall boys need to stay in ya lanes, u don't know what it's like it between these lines man give it a break. Dudes who quit football early to pursue media talkin mental toughness, cut it out."

Emmanuel Acho spoke again, targeting Kevin Durant. He said:

“Again, viewers at home, I always do my homework. That’s what you have to do when you’re a backup professional athlete.”

He elaborated, “Kevin Durant said in a GQ article in 2017 when he joined the Golden State Warriors, ‘I don’t want to have to be a leader. I’m not a leader. I’m bad at saying stand behind me and follow me.”

He also added, “See, I would suggest that Kevin Durant, he objects to the notion that the team reflects the demeanor of the best player. Because if Kevin Durant were to accept the reality that a team often reflects the demeanor of the best player, then he would have to honor that truth by his actions.”

All these comments seem to have irritated Draymond Green, and he leveraged his platform to show solidarity towards Kevin Durant. With Green’s comment, the verbal war between Durant and Acho has taken an interesting turn.

Kevin Durant’s achievements decorate his career and leave no doubt about his excellence. He is a strong case for becoming a future Hall of Famer. Draymond Green’s remarks spell out appreciation and respect that Durant truly deserves. How far the verbal war between the NBA and NFL player will go has become interesting to see after Green’s entering the scene.
