John Cena ’s first challenger for his newly Undisputed WWE Championship was revealed.
John Cena's plans to ruin wrestling took a major turn at WrestleMania 41. He dethroned Cody Rhodes with the help of questionable tactics and assistance from Travis Scott to win his record-setting 17th WWE Championship. However, he might not be able to enjoy his title reign as his first challenger has stepped up to the challenge. To make it more interesting, it was none other than his iconic WWE rival, Randy Orton .
John Cena and Randy Orton will collide for the final timeJohn Cena opened the SmackDown after WrestleMania 41 show that took place in The Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. He once again had the ring announcer do a proper introduction of him, much like on RAW. However, before Cena could speak, Randy Orton’s music hit, and he came out to confront Cena.
The Viper spoke about Cena’s connection with the audience and his incredible Make-a-Wish record of granting the maximum wishes. Orton suggested that Cena to have children and become who he truly was. The 17-time World Champion claimed that he did not have kids of his own as he was busy raising the children of fans worldwide.
Randy Orton claimed that he was here to stay, and Cena was just a guest. However, Cena dismissed it all and called the fans ‘hypocrites.’ Moreover, he also pointed out to the fact that he has now won 17 titles while Orton will be stuck at 14 only as Cena would walk away with the title after the end of his farewell tour.
As things got heated, Orton challenged Cena to put his title on the line on SmackDown. The Champ denied and instead suggested doing it at WWE Backlash next month, taking place in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, so that when Cena defeated him, he would have no excuses left.
At that point, John Cena tried to attack Randy Orton by throwing the belt at him, but Orton ducked and hit him with an RKO. Later on in the show, the match was made official for WWE Backlash, setting the stage for the two iconic rivals one last time.
