“Just wanted to live up to the expectations”: Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani creates history on his bobblehead night

The Los Angeles Dodgers ’ Shohei Ohtani is the moment. It was his first bobblehead night of the season, and he pulled it off by securing a solid, stunning win against the Atlanta Braves . He managed to create history for the team with a stunning score of 8-0.
Shohei Ohtani says he felt honored seeing the pressure Shohei Ohtani secured a walk-off homer against the Atlanta Braves by 6-5 on Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium. The Los Angeles Dodgers have had an undefeated start to the season.

Indeed, it was a massive win for the team, and for Shohei Ohtani, especially on his bobblehead night, when he made the game memorable for all his fans.


Now, the Los Angeles Dodgers stand alone in history as the first defending World Series champions to begin the season 8-0.



Right after the game, the MLB Network spoke to Shohei Ohtani, on how he felt after securing the win for the team.

Shohei Ohtani said he just wanted to live upto the expectations of his fans and perform his best. He said:


“I just wanted to live up to the expectations of the fans today to make sure I perform.”

Further, Shohei Ohtani said he felt honored seeing the pressure he had to undergo on the game night. He said:


“I am honored to feel the pressure because that means there are a lot of expectations…”
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts expresses confidence in the teamMeanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ team manager Dave Roberts, before the game started said he is confident in the team securing a victory.

Roberts said:

"I know that the math says that we're not going to go 162-0, but each night we take the field, I feel like we're going to win."

Earlier in the game, Max Muncy did make two bad throws that followed the Atlanta Braves to score five unearned runs in the first two innings.

However, in no time, the Los Angeles Dodgers slowly managed to catch up with home runs from Tommy Edman in the second inning and Micheal Conforto in the fourth inning.


The team celebrated the victory post game. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ team also shared a photo of the team celebrating with the caption:

“That feeling when you make history as the only reigning champions to start off a season 8-0.”
