Three people died, and three sustained injuries when a car travelling from Chhumra to Tyuni veered off the road and fell into a 100-metre gorge near Raigi Temple in Tyuni Saturday. Police said that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The police and locals launched a rescue operation , pulling out the six from the vehicle and rushing them to the nearest hospital, where doctors pronounced Sauransh (3), his mother Anita (30), both from Meghatu village, and Surat Ram Joshi (78) from Mundol village dead upon arrival.
The three injured — Itika (25), Manish Nautiyal (25), and Jayendra (38) — were referred to another medical centre after initial treatment. “The accident seems to have occurred due to the driver losing control of the vehicle,” said a police officer, adding that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
