Earthquake of magnitude 5 strikes Turkey

A magnitude 5 earthquake struck near Simav in Turkey's western Aegean region on Sunday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), as reported by Reuters.

Simav, located in Kütahya province roughly 300 kilometers east of Istanbul, has experienced seismic activity in the past, including a magnitude 6.1 quake in August.

There are currently no reports of casualties or significant damage from the latest earthquake, though local authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
