61-year-old Lorena Venier , an Italian mother, confessed to having killed and dismembered his 35-year-old son Alessandro, with the help of the daughter-in-law, as the son became abusive after the birth of their daughter. Lorena, a nurse, told the judge that she used a hacksaw and a sheet to hold the blood and dissected the body into three pieces. There were no blood spatters, and that's why the police did not find anything, Daily Mail reported.
The mother confessed that she was planning the murder with the daughter-in-law for months. "Mailyn (daughter-in-law) was violently beaten, insulted and repeatedly threatened with death," she alleged. "My son downplayed her postpartum depression, and when I decided to report it, he punched me in the back."
Lorena told the court that her son told his wife, who is originally from Colombia, that he would take her to Colombia and drown her in the river, as no one is looking for her there.
The mother and the daughter-in-law served Alessandro a glass of spiked lemonade before giving him two shots of insulin that Lorena got from the hospital. When Alessandro was unconscious, they suffocated him with a pillow and strangled him using shoelaces.
Then they moved the body to the garage, covered it in quicklime so that it would not smell.
They thought Alessandro's disappearance wouldn't be noticed by his friends, as he had told them that they were planning to go to Colombia. But Mailyn called the police and confessed to the crime, while Lorena told the judge that it was she who killed Alessandro and the daughter-in-law only helped in moving the body.
Lorena has been charged with murder and concealing a body, and Mailyn is being investigated for instigation to murder, reports said.
