Governor takes action in Zameer Khan judicial defamation case

Send Push

Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot has directed the Advocate General to take appropriate action regarding the judicial defamation complaint against Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan.

Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan had referred to a High Court ruling in the MUDA case, which allowed charges against the Chief Minister, as a “political verdict” during a media interaction.

In response to this, social activist T.J. Abraham filed a petition on September 26 seeking permission to register a judicial defamation case against the Minister. However, with no response to his petition, Abraham approached the Governor on October 21, requesting immediate action on the matter.

Following this, on November 6, the Governor’s special secretary R. Prabhushankar wrote to the Advocate General, instructing them to take necessary action according to the law. The letter highlighted that Zameer Khan had made serious allegations against the judiciary, questioning the integrity of the judicial system itself, which led to Abraham filing a complaint. The Governor has now directed the Advocate General to proceed with the required steps in accordance with legal procedures.
