While northern and central India continue to reel under an intense heatwave, heavy rains, hailstorms, and thunderstorms are expected in eastern and northeastern regions, with five states under critical weather watch.
Heatwave to Intensify in North, Central, and West IndiaThe IMD has forecast severe heatwave conditions in parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh. The alert spans from April 15 to April 19, with maximum temperatures expected to soar well above normal.

Heavy Rain and Hailstorm Alert in Northeast and Himalayan BeltA western disturbance is expected to become active from April 16, leading to heavy rainfall, thunder, and possible hailstorms across parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
