Fujairah Becomes IndiGo’s Fifth UAE Destination

In a major move to expand international connectivity, India’s leading budget airline IndiGo has announced the launch of daily direct flights from Fujairah to Mumbai and Kannur starting May 15, 2025. Fujairah now marks IndiGo’s 41st international destination and the fifth city in the UAE to be connected by the carrier, following Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah.

Bridging Fujairah and India with Daily Connectivity

The new routes come amid growing travel demand between India and the UAE, especially from major cities like Mumbai, a financial hub, and Kannur, a key city in Kerala. The flights are aimed at catering to both business travelers and the Indian diaspora, as well as boosting tourism in Fujairah.

Captain Ismail Mohammed Al Balooshi, General Manager of Fujairah International Airport, emphasized the significance of this development:

“This partnership reflects our commitment to providing more travel options for passengers and enhancing connectivity with vital destinations in India. We hope this move will contribute to consolidating Fujairah’s position as a preferred gateway for travelers from the region and the world.”

Strategic Step for IndiGo’s Global Growth

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, highlighted the airline’s enthusiasm for the UAE’s eastern emirate:

“We are delighted to announce the launch of daily direct flights from Mumbai and Kannur to Fujairah, the hidden gem of the UAE, known for its natural beauty and strategic location.”

These new services are expected to significantly enhance air travel accessibility for both residents and tourists, further strengthening the UAE-India aviation corridor, which is already among the busiest globally.
