Kareena Kapoor Khan recently expressed her desire for her sons, Taimur and Jeh, to experience her iconic film ' Jab We Met ' on the big screen. This revelation came during the ongoing Kareena Kapoor Khan Film Festival, which celebrates her 25 years in the Hindi film industry.
During a press conference at the festival, Kareena was asked if Taimur had seen any of her films. She noted that she plans to introduce her children to her work through this festival. When prompted about which film would be suitable for her sons to watch, “‘ Omkara ’ might be a little shocking for them with their father ( Saif Ali Khan ) in such a role. But maybe, ‘Jab We Met’. They haven’t started watching the films," she told News18 at the press conference.
The film, directed by Imtiaz Ali , features Kareena as Geet and Shahid Kapoor as Aditya, and has left an indelible mark on Bollywood since its release in 2007. Kareena's portrayal of Geet is celebrated as a pivotal moment in her career. The character's vibrant personality and memorable dialogues have made ‘Jab We Met’ a beloved classic. Their chemistry was palpable and contributed significantly to the film's success, making it resonate with audiences over the years.
At the same event, Kareena shared insights into her sons' understanding of her fame. She mentioned that Taimur is still too young to grasp the concept of celebrity but is aware of his own popularity due to the constant attention from paparazzi. "No you aren't famous, I am famous. You are nobody. You haven't done anything... So he is like 'maybe one day I will do it'. But right now his mind is not in films, it's only football," she explained .
On the work front, Kareena was recently seen in Hansal Mehta's crime thriller ‘ The Buckingham Murders ’, which released on September 13.
