New AI Features Set To Transform YouTube Content Creation And Viewer Interaction

Send Push
On Wednesday, September 18, YouTube revealed a series of cutting-edge AI features during its ‘Made On’ event. These innovations are aimed at offering creators more tools to enhance their content and engagement. One of the standout features is an AI-powered video model, Veo, developed by Google Deepmind . This tool will enable users to create six-second video clips specifically designed for YouTube Shorts .

“You’ll be able to seamlessly generate short clips that fit perfectly into your existing content,” YouTube shared in a blog post. The AI-generated clips will be labelled and watermarked using YouTube's SynthID to ensure transparency.

In addition, the Dream Screen feature will soon allow creators to generate AI-driven video backgrounds for their Shorts, using the upgraded capabilities of Veo. However, these enhancements are expected to roll out by the end of this year.

Expanding the Creator Ecosystem
YouTube is also introducing new tools to assist content creators with brainstorming ideas. The Inspiration Tab within YouTube Studio will offer AI-driven suggestions for video ideas, titles, thumbnails, and outlines.

Other notable developments include:

Communities
This new section allows creators and their fans to interact, share content, and discuss videos. Currently, it’s available to a limited number of creators but will soon expand to others.

Hype
A new feature allowing viewers to “hype” a creator’s video, similar to a like. The more "hypes" a video receives, the higher it will rank on YouTube's top 100 leaderboard. Users will be limited to three hypes per week, and the feature is exclusive to creators with fewer than 500,000 subscribers.

Automatic Dubbing
YouTube is adding an automatic dubbing tool that lets creators translate their videos into different languages while preserving the original tone and mood. It will first support Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian, with more languages to come. YouTube also plans to integrate AI-enhanced comment reply suggestions for creators through the YouTube Studio app.

Jewels and Gifts
These digital items can be purchased by fans to support creators during live streams. Initially, this feature will only be available in the U.S. for vertical live streams.

YouTube Shopping Expansion
YouTube is expanding its shopping program, enabling creators to share products with their followers. The program will soon include Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, in addition to the U.S. and South Korea.

Connected TVs
With the growing popularity of YouTube on TV screens, the platform is working on features to make it easier to watch videos and live streams directly from a creator’s channel. This will also include streamlined subscription and shopping options for TV viewers.

These new AI features are set to empower creators and enhance user experience as YouTube continues to evolve its platform.
